The Extraordinary Out of the Ordinary

We all like the big moments with God. We long for the worship times when we speak in tongues, see people healed and men and women come to know Jesus. We like the success moments, the confirmation moments. What about the small moments? What about being consistent in our day to day life.

Zacharias experienced an amazing moment, but in reading the story I also see a man who was faithful about his day to day life. He was praying for a child, he was keeping the ordinances and was considered blameless. In the midst of that he goes and performs his turn to serve in the temple. He was faithful, he was consistent.

It’s okay to seek for the big moments, but we shouldn’t miss the small ones waiting for it. It’s okay to want to be on the mountain top with God, but we shouldn’t forget that he is in the valley with us. We need to be consistent and we need to see that everything we do should be spiritual.
