Build

The most common definition of desperate is “feeling or showing a hopeless sense that a situation is so bad as to be impossible to deal with.” That is not what we are talking about. That is not a reflection of the relationship we have with our God. We are not desperate, if we are believers, to have Christ in our life. We can be assured that the Holy Spirit does dwell inside of us. Nor are we talking about being desperate for God to show up when we come together. He assures us He is with us.

There is another definition that fits the context of what we should desire. Oxford defines it as “(Of a person) having a great need or desire for something”, such as a drink of water or relationship with people. If we are going to build the kingdom of God it will start with this sense of need for Him.
