The Secret Place

Jesus tells us that members of the kingdom of God should go into our closet, our secret place, to prayer. What is beautiful is the word for closet was a Greek word used for a storeroom where treasure was kept. When we dedicate and consecrate a space where we go to spend time, just us and the Lord, what we value changes. Suddenly, earthen treasures like money and possessions don’t have a hold on us. They are merely seen as tools to use for the up-building of the kingdom of God
