LOCAL ELDER AND SECRETARY OF THE INTERNATIONAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Duties:
Local Elder: As one of the local elders of the Norfolk Congregation, Pastor Pat Tamakloe serves as the executive and pastoral care pastor overseeing all administrative, legal, and spiritual welfare of the church and its members.
Secretary of the International BOD: As the secretary of the International BOD, Pastor Tamakloe assumes the President and Vice President’s duties in their absence if required, but directs the scheduling, facilitation, and administration of all professional, legal, and operational matters of the international board. This includes any ministerial and regulatory matters pertaining to international churches by coordination with executive staff of the international elders.
Personal History:
Born in Harlem, New York, and raised in Ghana, West Africa, Pastor Tamakloe met Christian Fellowship when he was a sailor in the United States Navy and got baptized in 1995. He has been with the Norfolk congregation until retirement from his commission as a Naval Officer in 2017. He was then ordained in Norfolk as a co-pastor in 1998.
Ministry:
Pastor Tamakloe ministry in the church started in 1995 serving in different capacities from cleaning toilets to serving homeless people, through helping broken families find shelter, and assisting with providing food for the hungry in soup kitchens and food banks.
Pastor Tamakloe has taught bible studies as a lay leader onboard naval ships while deployed. He has served as a Fellowship Leader overseas while stationed in Japan and has provided spiritual guidance and counsel for parishioners as community group leader and family ministry coordinator.
Since his ordination as a co-pastor in the local church of Norfolk, Pastor Tamakloe has led several strategic efforts to enhance the wellbeing of its members, providing guidance, counseling to couples, families, the bereaved, and also held weddings and memorial services for multiple members of the local church. His overall responsibility for the spiritual care and wellbeing of its members compels effective collaboration and coordination with the co-pastors for overall health and leadership of the local church.
In addition to his efforts as a local pastor, he continues to work with the international pastors in fostering ministry and growth of churches in Africa to continue seeing the work of God flourish.
