International Women's Ministry - Mary Ogden

Duties: Co-leader of the Christian Fellowship Church International Women's Ministry.
Personal History: Captain Mary Ogden, USN, Retired, graduated from Northern Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing, December of 1975. Following the examples of her mother and grandmother, she became a Registered Nurse. She pursued a career specializing in Neuroscience and Emergency Medicine. Joining the Navy in January of 1981, she accepted a commission, completed Officer Indoctrination School, and moved her husband Michael and young daughter to Great Lakes Naval Base. Mary served three years of active duty, and 21 years in the US Naval Reserve. While stationed at Great Lakes Naval Base, she served with the Naval Hospital Great Lakes Unit 313. During her career she received three Navy Commendation Medals and the Navy Achievement Medal. She was also mobilized during Enduring Freedom where Captain Ogden served over 8 months and several return visits in the Occupational Health Department Charleston, South Carolina. Along with her military career she continued her studies becoming prolific with computers and additional Nursing fields. When she retired from her civilian career, she was a Certified Occupational Health Nurse - Specialist. Mary is now retired and enjoying life and family.
Family: Mary was born in 1953 in Detroit Michigan where she lived in with her four siblings and parents. She married Michael Ogden and started her family while in Michigan before starting her career in the US Navy.
Ministry History: Mary was baptized in Jesus’ name April of 1981, shortly after arriving in Great Lakes. Mary has been a loyal member of Christian Fellowship Church Ministries since. Mary and her husband have provided shelter to foster children as part of their Christian ministry. They also donated furniture for families in need, provided rides to church and medical appointments. For many years Mary taught in the ministry’s Sunday School along with her husband Michael. Working with others in the Church they enriched the Children’s Church curriculum and provided the same to children over the years and many locations as the ministry grew.
Currently Captain and Mr. Michael Ogden host a ministry at Holiday Shores Resort, Durand Michigan. They weekly share live services from the Norfolk congregation. They likewise continue to follow the Lindenhurst Christian Fellowship Church Ministry with Bible studies, prayer meetings and Women’s Fellowship. Mary has been an active member of the International Women’s Leadership group since its inception in October of 2020.
